Conversion Rate Optimization

Service

Experiments that move revenue per visitor — not just button colors.

Conversion rate optimization grounded in research, run with statistical discipline, and implemented properly in Shopify. We find where the funnel leaks, test what is most likely to matter, and measure the outcome in revenue.

Best for

Brands with enough traffic to test meaningfully, and a sense that product pages, cart or checkout are underperforming.

Typical scope

A conversion audit and test roadmap, or an ongoing experimentation program with design and build included.

Works with

Your design, merchandising and development teams, and testing tools such as Intelligems or Shoplift.

Tools

Intelligems · Shoplift · Shopify & Shopify Plus · Checkout Extensibility · GA4 · BigQuery · Microsoft Clarity · Liquid · JavaScript

Common problems

Why most CRO programs stall.

Tests chosen by opinion

Ideas come from the loudest voice in the room rather than research or data.

Conversion rate as the only metric

A test lifts conversion and lowers average order value. Nobody notices until margins shrink.

Results no one trusts

Underpowered tests, peeking at results, and broken tracking produce “wins” that never replicate.

Slow build cycles

Every variant needs a developer, so the program runs one test a quarter.

Checkout treated as off-limits

Cart and checkout friction goes unexamined because it feels too risky to change.

Capabilities

A complete experimentation capability.

Research & analysis

Understand where and why visitors drop off.

  • Funnel analysis by device, channel and segment
  • Heuristic and UX reviews
  • Session recordings and on-site surveys
  • Revenue-per-visitor measurement

Strategy & prioritization

Test the things most likely to matter.

  • CRO strategy and hypotheses
  • Experiment prioritization by impact and effort
  • Test roadmap and calendar
  • Sample-size and duration planning

Testing & implementation

Build tests that are fast and accurate.

  • A/B testing design and setup
  • PDP and landing-page testing
  • Price, offer and shipping threshold tests
  • QA across devices and browsers

Cart & checkout

The highest-intent steps in the funnel.

  • Cart optimization and drawer design
  • Upsells and cross-sells
  • Checkout optimization within Shopify Extensibility
  • Payment and trust signal review

In practice

Experimentation starts with observed customer behavior and ends with a decision: ship, revise, or stop.

Led

Clarifying a product-page purchase decision

Redesigned a buy-box hierarchy using heatmaps, session recordings and competitor research, tested it, and made the winner the baseline for subsequent tests.

Led

An always-on experimentation program

Running a continuous testing program across a commerce and subscription funnel — product pages, cart, checkout and offers — with results read in revenue per visitor and order value.

Led · implementation coordinated

Raising cart value without adding friction

Took a cart upsell from hypothesis through testing to wider rollout. The goal was higher cart value; the constraint was no new checkout friction and no confusion about purchase options.

What you get

  • Conversion audit with funnel analysis and quantified drop-off points
  • Prioritized hypothesis backlog with expected impact and effort
  • Designed and built test variants, QA’d before launch
  • Test readouts that report revenue per visitor, conversion and AOV together
  • Implementation of winning variants in the theme
  • A learning library so insights compound across tests

Why it matters commercially

More revenue from existing traffic

Improvements in revenue per visitor lower the cost of every acquisition channel.

Decisions backed by evidence

Changes are tested before they are rolled out, so you stop guessing.

Margin-aware optimization

Measuring revenue per visitor and AOV prevents wins that quietly cost money.

A program that keeps running

Fast build and clear prioritization keep tests in market continuously.

Engagement approach

Research first, then a steady testing cadence.

Programs typically reach a regular testing rhythm within the first month.

Discover

Audit the funnel, tracking accuracy and current experience across devices.

Output Conversion audit

Prioritize

Turn findings into hypotheses ranked by impact, confidence and effort.

Output Test roadmap

Execute

Design, build, QA and launch tests in your testing tool.

Output Live experiments

Optimize

Read out results honestly, ship winners, and feed learnings into the next tests.

Questions we hear often

How much traffic do we need to run tests?

It depends on your conversion rate and the size of change you want to detect. We calculate this before any test launches. Where traffic is too low for reliable A/B tests, we use research-led improvements and before-and-after measurement instead — and say so.

Why revenue per visitor instead of conversion rate?

Revenue per visitor captures both how many people buy and how much they spend. A change that increases conversion but lowers order value can reduce revenue; RPV makes that visible.

Can you test in Shopify checkout?

Within the limits Shopify allows. Checkout Extensibility supports UI extensions and some testing approaches on Shopify Plus; we design tests that stay within the platform’s rules.
